The Best All Season Tires
season tires, it got high reviews and was recommended over any other tire in the same category. Testers at the Tire Rack found that the Triple Tread performed well in just about every type of weather/road condition (other than icy roads) It was rated as best for winter traction among all other all weather tires.
If you are looking for great tire performance on ice, the high performance H rated version of the Triple Tread Tire is recommended by reviewers and consumers who tested them. There was some discrepancy regarding the performance of the Triple Tread in areas with severe winter weather and in that case, a dedicated snow tire is much better.
The Yokohama Avid TRZ may be a better fit your budget, it retails for only $85 and has been rated to perform almost as well as the highest rated Goodyear tires. Like the Triple Tread, the Avid TRZ does not get the best traction on ice, but the Avid will compare closely to the Triple Tread’s performance on all types of road conditions. There are some complaints by consumers that the Avid TRZ wears faster than expected, according to some consumers, but for the price, it is at the top of the list.
If you are looking for a tire that performs well in wet climate, the Michelin Hydro Edge (retail price $110), an all season tire which is specifically designed to prevent hydroplaning, may be your best bet. Consumers rated the Hydro Edge the highest rated wet-road tire, the Hydro Edge does NOT perform as well as the top-ranked Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread or the Yokohama Avid TRZ, but its all around best performance does rank higher than two other competitors, the Goodyear Assurance Comor Tread for $115, and the Michelin Harmony est. $115. The Hydro Edge is not a quiet tire according to consumer review, the price is a bit high for a standard all season tire.
