The Mazda5 Minivan
The Mazda5 Touring gets 22/27 (manual) 21/26 (automatic) is a fuel miser when compared to the other minivans on the market today. To be fair, the Mazda5 is a much smaller vehicle than the other minivans, this compact minivan design may not have enough space for your needs; take it for a test drive at your local Cross Keys Auto used truck dealers in St. Louis, and do as much research as possible to compare the Mazda 5 to other minivans.
The Mazda may not look to you like a minivan at all because Mazda is a company with a strong brand identity. Mazda’s cars don’t look like duplicates of other manufacturers, which is either good or bad, depending on how you like the model. The modern Mazda has big headlights that stretch around the front corners of the car. The body has more of a crossover shape than minivan and the 17″ alloy wheels look fabulous. The rear door handles are at the leading edge of the sliding minivan doors. The sliding doors help with easy access to load your gear and to get kids and dogs in and out easily and makes accessing the back seat also more simple for adult passengers. The Mazda5 may not win any beauty contests, but it is more stylish than many other minivans.
On the inside the gear shift lever is mounted up on the center console at mid-level height, rather than on the floor of the vehicle. It leaves the floor between the front seats clear, great for a quick trip to the back seat from the front. The dash is simple, straightforward and cleanly designed and may or may not be equipped with an optional navigation system ($2,000). The system has intuitive menus and an easy to use interface mounted right next to the stick shift lever. The driving position is upright with a tilt and telescope adjustable steering wheel and the Captain’s style driver’s seat is firm and supportive. The third row seat is a little spare and bench-like for long rides, but great for the quick carpool commute.
