How To Write An Ad To Sell Your Old Car

This entry was posted in Used Car Dealers

If you are planning to sell your old car yourself, you may be wondering how to write a great advertisement so that you will get as many responses (and subsequently as many offers) on your car as possible. Whether you are posting the AD on Craig’s List, a used car website, or in the newspaper, here are some tips that will help you to create the best ad possible.

Make sure that you keep your ad as concise as possible, you will want to get as much pertinent information as possible into a brief description of your automobile.  If you write too lengthy of an ad, many people will skip over much of the information or skip onto the next ad.

Include in your ad; the year, make, and model of the vehicle and what condition it is in, make sure top mention any upgrades as far as options and features go, describe the car, you may want to mention the color of the interior and exterior.

Make sure to include things that are big selling points such as low mileage, or all maintenance records available.  Also be sure to mention if there is still a factory or extended service plan on the vehicle.

Briefly mention your terms such as the asking price and how firm you are about negotiating the price.  If you just need to get rid of the car no matter how low the offer is then you may want to list the price with a dollar amount and then “or best offer” afterward.  If there is no negotiating room and you absolutely will not consider a lower offer, use the word “firm” after you list the price.

Make sure to put in your contact information, preferably a cell phone number where you can be readily available, and then decide where you will list your ad. After your old car has sold and you are ready to purchase a new vehicle, visit Cross Keys Auto used car dealers in St. Louis.
